In the Hacienda Homes, as in many homes, the kitchen will be the center of activity. In its warmth, people will gather to share their day, break bread and enjoy the dynamic scents that come with ever-changing seasonal foods. Residents, associates and visitors will enjoy the camaraderie that comes with preparing and eating a meal together.
Within a culinary program based on the science of Dr. Andrew Weil, wholesome meals of fresh, local food will be prepared by Nayas, with a helping hand from residents. Whenever possible, ingredients will be sourced from The Hacienda’s own gardens and orchards.
Although meals are served at the dining room table three times a day in the Hacienda Homes, residents can generally eat what they want, when they want, especially the most important meal of the day — breakfast. One person may choose tea and toast in bed at 6:15 AM while another opts for scrambled eggs and bacon in the kitchen with fellow residents at 8:30 AM.
Our In the Pantry program will provide residents with their own personal space to store snacks and food items that are near and dear to their hearts. Just provide a list of favorite non-perishable items and we do the shopping for a nominal charge. There is something so comforting about having your favorite cookies with a cold glass of milk just when you want them.
